There's a delightful network of footpaths running through the parkland between housing developments in Montgomery County, Maryland. Xisca and Clara used to walk them on sunny mornings, and all three of us would often take a stroll there after supper. One of Clara's favorite spots was a wooden bridge over a little stream: she seemed mesmerized by the sight and sound of water flowing over the rocks.
